How long should you wait after rain or dew?

What if a wet summer leaves no choice?

Couch and kikuyu can put on a lot of growth in a warm, wet week. If the grass is nearing one and a half times your mowing height and the Bureau of Meteorology shows more rain, mowing slightly damp beats letting it get long.

Raise the mower about 1 cm.
Use a sharp blade. A blunt one tears even dry grass.
Walk slowly and overlap passes so the mower is not overloaded.
Empty the catcher often so clippings do not clump.
Avoid tight turns and soft, low spots, and skip slopes.
Clean the deck straight away, before clippings dry on.
